The final WGC event of the 2016-17 season returns to its normal place on the calendar and to the same course for the 18th time in 19 years.
Big-boy event with a 76-player field plus some weather issues doesn’t change my theory this week: a premium player will win.

With almost all of the big boys spent earlier in the season, I have an executive decision to make.
Don’t forget though a Canadian hasn’t won this tournament since 1954 when Pat Fletcher lifted the trophy.

Young studs and classic course horses will cross the radar screen this week at TPC Deere Run.
The ONLY thing I’m sure about this week is you better have a horse that has no problem making plenty of birdies and doing it over multiple days. Par is NOT a decent score this week.

I’d suggest reading this missive carefully as there is a catch.
Due to the deadly floods in Greenbrier County last year, the 2016 edition was cancelled and Danny Lee could not defend.
One year later, the course has been rebuilt and put back together for the PGA Tour.

Billy Hurley, III, defends his title this week on his home practice course.
The Tour hasn’t been here since 2006 and TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm has since undertaken major renovations.
