If it honks like a duck…
If it swims like a duck…
If it looks like a duck…
It’s not always a duck.
If I was an eagle I’d dress like a duck
Crawl like a lizard and honk like a truck
If I get a notion I’ll climb this tree
or chop it down and you can’t stop me
Chop it down and you can’t stop me
Ooooooooooooooooh Freedom
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh Liberty
Sergio Garcia was last week’s duck for most gamers. His form was on (T-3 at his home course last time out) and he rakes at TPC Sawgrass.
And then he made a double. Then a quad. Then another double. And another after that.
His final two holes of the week were birdie-TRIPLE.
He led the field in birdies and finished T-57.
WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN!?!?!?!
You’re free to take whoever for whatever reasons.

UNDERWHELMING I say!
2015-16 season
Season total: $4,479,897; 27 events
- Wins: 2
- Seconds: 0
- Thirds: 1
- Top 10s: 6
- Top 25s: 14
- MC: 2 (Mickelson, FIO; Oosthuizen, SHO)
Last week: Rory McIlroy (T-12; $212,625)
The only consolation is I didn’t play Garcia (T-54).
That’s it.
McIlroy was second in strokes-gained: tee-to-green and 68th in strokes-gained: putting.
HIT. IT. CLOSER. BRAH.
It’s amazing that in a field of this magnitude that he still hits the top 15 putting like that. Check out this quote from him:
RORY McILROY: Not a bad week. I guess it’s just an accumulation of everything that’s gone on. I haven’t played — fourth last week and probably going to be another top 10 this week, 10th at Augusta. I mean, the finishes are okay, but I just — I’d rather get right in there in contention, and I felt like I had a chance to do that. I was 8-under par for the tournament after 11 holes, and with seven holes left, had a good chance on 12 and didn’t convert, and then there’s some chances coming in, and didn’t take advantage of any of them, really.
From being in a position where I could have maybe posted a number to giving the guys behind something to think about, I was just sort of scrambling to try and get into the top 10. Yeah, it’s sort of — there’s good stuff in there, and there’s just a little bit of — there’s too many wasted shots basically, so that’s what I need to try and cut out going forward.”
Dude is wasting shots and not making anything.
And is finishing in the top 12.
Half of me is happy that I racked up a couple hundred grand, but the other half, for the third year running, cannot find a victory in this format for McIlroy.
Fantasy golf is hard, folks.
Thermometer:
Went big. Went home with T-12.
Keys this Week:
- Strokes-gained: tee-to-green
- Par four scoring
- Check the bogeys at the door so getting up-and-down won’t hurt either
My Five Finalists:
1.) Dustin Johnson
2.) Charley Hoffman
3.) Marc Leishman
4.) Ryan Palmer
5.) Jason Dufner
The Choice: Jason Dufner
Close Second: Marc Leishman
Long Shot Special: Keegan Bradley
Verdict: After already burning DJ, Hoffman and Palmer, I’ll ride with the former champ. Leishman makes sense in EVERY TOAD game and I have no problem using him either this week as the lead. Zach Johnson goes next week or JDC; Garcia, The Open; Kuchar goes any and everywhere; Schwartzel should be on this list as well and would be if was stretched to six players. Bradley has one round in the 70s in his last five events.
