In here, you’ll find my BRIEF thoughts and strategy for the PGA TOUR Fantasy game.
It’s no secret that I cannot stand substitution games but I’m always using it to my advantage when it benefits ME.
I finished in the top 100 last year so I’ve figured something out, BUT:
I’m off to a terrible start in 2017-18.
1.) I forgot to play one week.
2.) I had ALL SIX GUYS miss the cut at The RSM Classic to end my chances, er, season in 2017.
After reading that, I’m surprised any of you would read on but alas, I’ll forge ahead for those who do.
Last Week — Genesis Open
- Tournament Points: 1,114
- Tournament Rank: 4,139
- Season Points: 10,564
- Season Rank: 3,317
I’ve been better and I’ve been worse!
Riding four rounds of Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson didn’t pan out in the end.
Not having the champ never helps and I didn’t have Watson rostered this week.
As I read this week, 1/3 of the season is complete. I dug my hole and I will spend the next 2/3 trying to dig my way out.
This Week
One course equals NORMAL SCORING so make sure you have a bit of balance in your lineup.
I’m leaning on ball-strikers who can handle difficult tracks at a tough Champion Course at PGA National. Par is an excellent score this week especially on par 70 layout. With only two par-5 holes, lean on guys who can grind out pars and avoid bogeys.
Read more about this week in The Confidence Factor and my preview.
There are five events after this week left in the segment, including a WGC event, so don’t be afraid to lay the lumber.
Alternate Alternatives
For those of you, who like to live dangerously…or like me, need to have a miracle this week to get back into business:
Tyrell Hatton
Tommy Fleetwood
Jhonattan Vegas
Ian Poulter
Brian Harman
Jason Dufner
Good Luck!
