PGA TOUR Fantasy Game — Genesis Open 2018

Follow along!

Genesis

Welcome to 2018!

In here, you’ll find my BRIEF thoughts and strategy for the PGA TOUR Fantasy game.

It’s no secret that I cannot stand substitution games but I’m always using it to my advantage when it benefits ME.

I finished in the top 100 last year so I’ve figured something out, BUT:

I’m off to a terrible start in 2017-18.

1.) I forgot to play one week.

2.) I had ALL SIX GUYS miss the cut at The RSM Classic to end my chances, er, season in 2017.

After reading that, I’m surprised any of you would read on but alas, I’ll forge ahead for those who do.

Last Week — AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

  • Tournament Points: 627
  • Tournament Rank: 503
  • Season Points: 9,450
  • Season Rank: 3,556

I played four guys.

Jordan Spieth was the worst of the four.

The other three, Dustin Johnson, Jason Day and Phi Mickelson all tied for second.

Good week but not great as everyone and their mother had DJ in the lineup.

I couldn’t blame any of them!

This Week

One course equals NORMAL SCORING so make sure you have a bit of balance in your lineup.

The one aspect I will NOT skimp on this week is experience. I’m leaning on West Coast guys who have had their successes here. I’ll save the Florida fellas for the next few weeks down there.

Check THE PREVIEW here for more details.

As you could see from my team last week, you need something special to move up the ranks of the season. I finished in almost top 500 last week and didn’t even move up 500 spots on the season standings!

Be aggressive with at least one of your bench players and hope you nail the right one!

Starters

starts left in parentheses; subject to change based on course rotation, weather, etc.

Dustin Johnson (1; done after this week)

Rory McIlroy (2)

Tommy Fleetwood (2)

Phil Mickelson (1)

Subs:

Adam Scott (3)

Paul Casey (3)

Alternate Alternatives

For those of you, who like to live dangerously…or like me, need to have a miracle this week to get back into business:

Thomas Pieters

Daniel Berger

Brendan Steele

Chez Reavie

Marc Leishman

William McGirt

Good luck!
