WGC-Bridgestone Invitational PGA Tour Game

There’s no point in trying to fit square holes into round pegs this week.

It’s a WGC so have your roster reflect the talent that is assembled.

Plus, there are only six events after this one!

PGA Tour Fantasy Golf Game

Each week, I’ll trot out guys who I believe who fit the course, the game and the road map, plus add some substitutes. Four starters are supported by two bench players each week. Remember, once a player tees off in your lineup he burns a start, so make sure you need to sub out instead of want to sub out.

You’ll learn a few things about me each week in this column.

Games, like this one, that involve daily substitution options, I am terrible at playing.

I’ll give you my best four starters and two bench options but it’s up to you to outguess me on which rounds they should sit or play.

Last Time — RBC Canadian Open

  • Tournament Points: 1,414
  • Tournament Rank: 3,997
  • Season Points: 34,693
  • Season Rank: 87

I dropped two points having Charley Hoffman and Dustin Johnson in the lineup for all four days.

Too bad I left big rounds on the bench just about every day but that’s par for the course for me.

Neither of my long shots paid off either so yeah.

This Week

For those following up Royal Birkdale with Firestone South and then on to Quail Hollow, gee whiz, that’s some streak of tough golf.

For those who were forced to make 20-something birdies and go low last week, a shift in gears will be in order.

With six events left, there’s no reason to save starts if you’re trailing.

If you’re charging the front, getting the starts and bench correct will be paramount.

Alternate Alternatives

Hell, I’d have no problem with these six guys either!

Jordan Spieth

Rickie Fowler

Justin Rose

Gary Woodland

Adam Scott

Rafael Cabrera-Bello

Good luck!
