Gotta win about half of the next tournaments to hit the top 10 in my league but I’ll push on!

Last Week – Charles Schwab Challenge
It appears that when I get my pick decent, the rest of the other picks fall to pieces.
Apologies.
It’s been a brutal run. Kokrak was my man to win at Match Play, wrong Texas event.
I never doubted Spieth would win this week so getting the guy to beat him would have taken some doing.
Nicely done to all of you on Kokrak.
THE CHOICE: Brian Harman
Quietly having a fantastic season with 17 paydays from 19 starts.
Last time he played a “short” course, T13 RBC Heritage.
Last time he played Bentgrass, T12 Masters.
Let’s roll lefties for two weeks in a row!
You know it’s a long season when T8 feels like a winner!
I’m happy his worst round, 70 on Sunday, kept him in the top 10 as his fantastic season rolls on. His worst start (6 of 7 cashed) recently is T18 and this is the third top 10 in that stretch.
Safety Dance:
Players in here will appear obvious until I explain why they might not be. Remember “one” means ONCE, not again down the road or don’t perhaps “fit” to this event.
Jordan Spieth: Yep. If not Masters, then here. I know that’s boring but… 54 hole leader beaten heads-up in his own backyard by Kokrak. Says more about the latter than the former. Solo Second.
Collin Morikawa: Just a make a putt or two and all should be well. Should have won here last year. REVENGE!!! T14 as the putter was chilly. Obviously his ball-striking translates here!
Justin Rose: Top 10 last week at Kiawah and WIN and T3 in two of his last three here. T20 as he only had four bogeys entering Sunday. Ended with 6 and a double.
Ryan Palmer: Great choice for those who don’t want to burn top level talent, no offense. This is event 18 for the Colonial member. I’m pretty sure his caddy has been the club champion multiple times as well. T32 and 40k after opening with 74 feels like a win here.
Spicy:
Abraham Ancer: Just needs to peel one of these off. Full bag and full of confidence. T14 with a monster 67-67 weekend.
Kevin Na: Whatever is wrong, Colonial usually fixes it. Popped in a 65 but that was it, T32.
Charley Hoffman: Loves Texas and is in flying form. Shit fire hot folks! T3.
Joaquin Niemann: Should have enough reps now to crack the code. T50.
Scottie Scheffler: Nice bounce-back at Kiawah Island after T47 at TPC Craig Ranch. Oh, and Texas. And MC.

This Week – 46th Memorial Tournament

Prize pool is $9.3 million and $1.674 for first.
Jack isn’t messing around anymore.
He’s not going to sit back and watch his baby get ran over.
I don’t blame him.
Trees moved. Bunkers moved. Greens moved (and were rebuilt, redone and changed). Tees moved. Slopes were added and subtracted. More pin placements available. Trees added.
Can’t wait to see what the result is going to be.
I wouldn’t think many in double digits under if any.
THE CHOICE: Collin Morikawa
He doesn’t care or remember what he did here last year. As well as he hits it, he shouldn’t. New greens and pin placements won’t bother the best tee-to-green player statistically on TOUR. When NOBODY will have an advantage putting, he moves right to the front of the line.
Safety Dance:
Players in here will appear obvious until I explain why they might not be. Remember “one” means ONCE, not again down the road or don’t perhaps “fit” to this event.
Jon Rahm: Gotta save him for Torrey, right?
Justin Thomas: Tournament every year where his grandparents would come watch. First one without Grandpa who passed earlier this year. Home game for the Kentucky/Indiana folk.
Hideki Matsuyama: Another happy with new greens and tough ball-striking conditions.
Tony Finau: This is a recording.
Jordan Spieth: His run of form is something. I’d be shocked if any of you have him left.
Spicy:
Shane Lowry: Destroyed Kiawah off the tee; three top 10 in seven on TOUR.
Patton Kizzire: Last two events on Bentgrass in Texas he hit the podium. Had no problem on a big ball park at Valero either.
Rickie Fowler: Loves Memorial and he’s as hot as he’s been. Great pick for those looking to make up ground or catch a miracle.
Keegan Bradley: Too many good ones in the last three months to ignore. Another who will be excited he’s not losing strokes on the greens before the event starts.
Marc Leishman: 10 straight fam. Somebody needs a cut made.
3 AM at the Blackjack Table:
Kevin Streelman, Joaquin Niemann, Kyle Stanley, Doug Ghim, Jason Day, Talor Gooch

2018-19
My contributions for the major championships and PLAYERS selection were worse than bad so to still break the $10 million mark with those awful results was encouraging.
Another valuable lesson learned is that the Playoffs are for the big boys. Now, WHICH big boys make this more and more difficult and that’s why it’s enjoyable and maddening all at the same time. Only McIlroy and Woods have won the FedExCup twice so start there.
