Bonus baby week this week as you can find serious value from names you probably wouldn’t entertain in any other events this season.
Another impossible field to handicap but I’ve given it a shot.
Best ball Thursday and Saturday followed by alternate shot Friday and Sunday. #Volatility.
And if the golf isn’t enough…

Last Week – 53rd RBC Heritage
The winner was in this column so I don’t feel as bad for MY SHITTY PICK but I’ve learned something again this week.
Form trumps.
Period.
Now, when 125-1 cashes, it’s hard to guess/predict which one it will be, got it.
Taking a guy on little to no form was a risk and it didn’t pay off.
When you’re 6 million out of first, there are only a few ways to get back into it.
If Kisner wins at Colonial, I’ll be hot…
THE CHOICE: Kevin Kisner – MC
New putting grip, familiar surroundings, a short course and Bermuda = tough MC to stomach.
-ends-
Safety Dance:
Players in here will appear obvious until I explain why they might not be. Remember “one” means ONCE, not again down the road.
Webb Simpson: Notice he has not named one of his daughters RBC. BUT IF HE HAS ANOTHER ONE…His record here was quite impressive before his 22-under course record in June. Different conditions but he’s also made eight straight in April. Nine straight. T9. I still have him alive for Wyndham.
Patrick Cantlay: His worst finish from three starts in April is T7. His other two are T3s. Didn’t play in June last year so doesn’t have to recalibrate either. Current form MC-MC trumped his course form as he’s now missed three consecutive cuts on TOUR. Yep, I triple checked…
Matthew Fitzpatrick: Solid seaside player who can hole putts and hit tons of fairways. Never “save” him for anywhere anyway. T4 included an opening round 71. Never was going to win but T4 is tasty.
Matt Kuchar: Past history here is as safe as it gets. He’s done the business in all sorts of weather in April. T18 is solid, yet unspectacular, but he’s on the wrong side of 40.
Spicy:
Brian Harman: Making cuts for fun but just doesn’t have the pile of victories to point to over the years. T13, just like every other week!
Corey Conners: Interesting to see how he handles a navigator’s track. Brilliantly for 54 holes as he was the only player in the top 6 with a round OVER par, T4
Tyrrell Hatton: Got over the hump at the Masters and has no problem playing in the breezes. A pair of 66s didn’t match with a pair of 73s for T39.
Si Woo Kim: Pete Dye player and will feel this place owes him one after 2018. T33
Chris Kirk: When hot form meets garbage course form… Another top 10, T7 this time.
3 AM at the Blackjack Table:
Branden Grace – T42, JT Poston – MC, Michael Thompson – T42, Stewart Cink – WIN, Matthew NeSmith – T48
Good Luck!
This Week – Zurich Classic of New Orleans
THE CHOICE: Week Off
My game isn’t playing this week but if yours is, well, bully for you.
Safety Dance:
Players in here will appear obvious until I explain why they might not be. Remember “one” means ONCE, not again down the road.
Ryan Palmer: T4 with Spieth and defending champ with Rahm. I’ll point out that no winners here in ANY FORMAT have defended with a T10 or better. But you get Rahm for free so yeah.
Danny Willett: Ryder cup audition? Playing with his mate? Won’t use him anywhere else!
Charl Schwartzel: Because you get Louis and he’s also making some cuts.
Spicy:
Brendon Todd: Dawgs barkin and Kirk is shit hot fire right now.
Harold Varner III: T2 last week paired with Grace who won earlier and went close here in 2019.
Doubting Thomases: Lewis and Pieters can knock it around just about anywhere.
Roberto Castro: T5 with partner Cameron Tringale last year.
Nick Taylor: Returns with Martin Laird who has hit the top 10 in his last two including one with Taylor last year.
Joseph Bramlett: Teamed with Maverick McNealy who just picked up T4 at HHI. Bramlett has cashed in five of six.
3 AM at the Blackjack Table:
Lanto Griffin, Chez Reavie, Nick Watney, Jason Dufner, Kris Ventura

2018-19
My contributions for the major championships and PLAYERS selection were worse than bad so to still break the $10 million mark with those awful results was encouraging.
Another valuable lesson learned is that the Playoffs are for the big boys. Now, WHICH big boys make this more and more difficult and that’s why it’s enjoyable and maddening all at the same time. Only McIlroy and Woods have won the FedExCup twice so start there.
