THE CHOICE: Russell Henley – T30
Amazing to keep making cuts and having guys finish in this range. Of course it’s Henley’s worst finish this season! Shame he saved his best two rounds for last whereas a MC could have just let me enjoy the weekend.
Alas, another made cut, and bonus life still available in Spotter’s game.

I was licking my chops as I had him booked at 40-1 before the event started. He’s now 0-5 in playoffs. I’m more disappointed that I didn’t put him, on his preferred surface, as my lead dog. Sigh.

Another top 10 from the Sea Island resident! Maybe this is his late career John Deere Classic.

With a 70! With a 70!!! Led the field in GIR and made 21 birdies.

Yep. Hometown hero has played plenty of excellent rounds this time of the year in season past. He’s on fire here as well, 38-under over the last two years. Countryman Carlos Ortiz beat him to the winner’s circle on TOUR and he should be fired up to join him. Not to mention Ortiz also beat him here last year!

Harris English: Too many top finishes recently plus a former winner.
Corey Conners: In top form with three top 10s in his last four; led the field in GIR at RSM and that will play again this week. MAKE A PUTT ALREADY.
Russell Henley: Didn’t fire in time last week, but the body of work is stout. PLUS I’M NOT ON HIM THIS WEEK UR WELCOME.
Spicy:
Patton Kizzire: Shit-hot form and never missed here. Previous winner doesn’t scare me off either.
Brice Garnett: T11 or better in four of the last five years but his form on TOUR isn’t stellar. His record on Paspalum is!
Emiliano Grillo: Another Paspalum player to ponder. Made 10 of last 11 cuts and the best one was last week.
Marc Leishman: Flashed at the Masters but was ice cold before that. It’s Australian summer so he should be heating up. Will it be THIS week?

2018-19
My contributions for the major championships and PLAYERS selection were worse than bad so to still break the $10 million mark with those awful results was encouraging.
Another valuable lesson learned is that the Playoffs are for the big boys. Now, WHICH big boys make this more and more difficult and that’s why it’s enjoyable and maddening all at the same time. Only McIlroy and Woods have won the FedExCup twice so start there.
