THE CHOICE: Doc Redman
Well, shit.
He did finish T28, right inside the I DARE YOU zone.
Only round of the week in the 60s was Sunday to save a few bucks but 10 shots off Sergio Garcia’s walk-off win.
Nice player, the Diggy Diggy Doc y’all. I’m sure he’ll win sometime this year to rub salt in my wound.
We move on, terribly slowly, but yet surely.
Still alive in Spotter’s DON’T GET CUT IF YOU CAN’T WIN OAD game.
So I have that going for me, which is nice.

Carlos Ortiz: Not even his favorite stop on TOUR could produce a reaction. MC.
Sebastian Munoz: Opened with 64 to fill plenty of gamers with regret. Only round of the week in the 60s for T23.
Denny McCarthy: There we go, finally. T6 as he helped immensely at Covers.com as well.

Patrick Rodgers: Big hitter, great putter. MISSED CUTTER.
JT Poston: Lovely week saw him share the lead after 54 holes and claim a podium in solo third.
Cameron Percy: T24 heading into the weekend. 74-74 T59 heading out.
This Week – Shriners Hospitals for Children Open
THE CHOICE:
Patrick Cantlay: His record here stretches across any and all weather. Current form makes for an easy eject but course historians might not wait for “later”. He’s talented enough to win anywhere but bentgrass and course knowledge pushes him above the others.
Safety Dance:
Players in here will appear obvious until I explain why they might not be. Remember “one” means ONCE, not again down the road.
Bryson DeChambeau: Coming off his first major win he won’t lack confidence on a course he’s trashed the last three years.
Webb Simpson: On paper the best of the bunch as he checks form, history and ease of scoring.
Harris English: I and only I can “Zalatoris him!” Form has been lights-out in 2020. Just missing a W.
Collin Morikawa: Bent grabs my attention because I know his ball-striking won’t be the issue.
Spicy:
Matthew Wolff: Proven in the two majors he’s played that his game travels. His win came posting 21-under on bentgrass on a TPC layout.
Denny McCarthy: Very good last week (T6) and back-to-back Top 15s here. I’d be more excited if it was Bermuda on the greens.
Cameron Davis: Career-best T6 last week and learned some lessons playing the final group with Garcia.

2018-19
My contributions for the major championships and PLAYERS selection were worse than bad so to still break the $10 million mark with those awful results was encouraging.
Another valuable lesson learned is that the Playoffs are for the big boys. Now, WHICH big boys make this more and more difficult and that’s why it’s enjoyable and maddening all at the same time. Only McIlroy and Woods have won the FedExCup twice so start there.
