Last year Keith Mitchell came from out of nowhere to beat Rickie Fowler and Brooks Koepka by a shot. Only Jack Nicklaus has defended here so yeah.
Cool with sunshine this week but there’s always wind! And water. And sand. And The Bear Trap.

If you need more explanations, please go back and read last week or the week of Sentry. I’m trying to streamline this for the degenerates who want the pick NOW NOW NOW.
Last Week – WGC-Mexico Championship & Puerto Rico Open
Sad to end the OAD season in FEBRUARY because the landlord in Mexico City played like a steaming pile of CACA. Blowing JT and DJ in back-to-back weeks for a combined 45,500 is not the stuff that dreams are made of, kids!
Hooray for Viktor Hovland. This will feel even WORSE when he wins the Memorial or some $1.65 million first place later in the year.
I hate fantasy golf some weeks.
THE PICKS – Last Week
Dustin Johnson – T48
A fun bet to make with your degenerate friends would be: Will he cash WORSE than this again before the FEC Playoffs? Not MC, but CASH. This is the only way I could get some of my entry back I think.
I’m not #Happy today.
Please respect my privacy at this time.
Rory McIlroy – Fifth: Nothing stings more than taking him and he doesn’t win. I’ve made a LIVING off doing that. BEWARE MASTERS BEWARE!
Justin Thomas – T6: In a vacuum, that’s just fine. He had the worst Sunday score in the top 45. Woof. This shit ain’t easy, folks.
Tommy Fleetwood – T18: Bit of rust caught up with him as he never had a low one to get into contention.
Adam Scott – T26: After a smooth 74 to open…
Louis Oosthuizen – T51: I’m not missing the rust/altitude/jetlag angle next time around.
Tyrrell Hatton – T6: He was rusty, jet lagged and this was his first event back after wrist surgery. You let me know when you get all of this figured out.
Paul Casey 11th: Current form sticks him in here.
3 AM at the Blackjack Table:
Rafa Cabrera Bello – T16, Kurt Kitayama – T53, Robert MacIntyre – T42,
3 AM in Puerto Rico:
Viktor Hovland (my pick) – GOLAZO, Will Gordon – T20, Scott Brown – T67
This Week – The Honda Classic
Are you ready for “The Bear Trap”?
What about “balls in the water”?
Wondering why it’s not the CHAMPIONS Course but rather the CHAMPION Course?
Yeah, me too. Let’s do this.
Folks, Wyndham Clark and KH Lee played in the final group before MC-MC-73-MC made a putt on the final hole to win last year.
I mean, is this the week to empty the chamber?
I’m going to suggest it is not.
The course is hard. There’s a ton of water = a ton of F*CK THIS I’M DONE.
You either go with the local studs or you abandon ship to fight another day.
Fowler and Koepka haven’t done anything to warrant a pick this week so I hope you enjoy their 4-hole playoff before the sun goes down.
After you get through the light chalk this week, where do you go?
If you read HFC there aren’t a ton of guys who just light it up here. Not surprising because the course is HARD.
With a prize pool of only $7 million and a winner’s check of $1.26, I’m going fishing.
THE PICK: Daniel Berger
Billy Horschel: Probably 1A this week but can also fire him at TPC Southwind (Berger might not qualify) or Valero (if he chooses to play).
Tommy Fleetwood: He’s never won on TOUR but he’s 14-clubs through the bag excellent. Solo fourth on debut in 2018.
Gary Woodland: Seems fit as a fiddle and relaxed for a home game.
Shane Lowry: T29 or better in everything recently and I’m not sure what you’re “saving” him for.
Erik van Rooyen: We’ve seen it on Poa now let’s see it on Bermuda!
Viktor Hovland: Ok, do it again! Some guys love heat and when they get hot, they go. He just might.
Ben An: Plays well here but you know the rest of this story…
Matt Wallace: Makes tons of cuts and was T20 on debut last year. You won’t use him anywhere else.
3 AM at the Blackjack Table:
Talor Gooch, J.T. Poston, Lucas Glover
Check out my previous results below if you need a history lesson:
My majors contributions and PLAYERS selection were worse than bad so to still break the $10 million mark with those awful results was encouraging.
Another valuable lesson learned is that the Playoffs are for the big boys. Now, WHICH big boys make this more and more difficult and that’s why it’s enjoyable and maddening all at the same time. Only McIlroy and Woods have won the FedExCup twice so start there.
