Welcome aboard!

If you need more explanations, please go back and read last week or the week of Sentry. I’m trying to streamline this for the degenerates who want the pick NOW NOW NOW.

Last Week – Genesis Invitational

Truly unbelievable that Tiger is so far in his head that it causes him to MC on a course where he was 17-under last year!

I couldn’t have been more wrong on the angle and the execution and that’s why I’m not winning in any of my leagues.

I was also shocked that Adam Scott could take eight weeks off and show up and win on a track like that.

Glad that’s over with!

THE PICK

Justin Thomas – MC: Wrote this last week:

Elevated tournament status comes with a very nice payday so he makes even more sense this week. He’s already done the Kobe tribute and had a week to tune up T3 from Scottsdale. It’s well documented he should have won here last year as he led by four after 54. It’s also well documented that Tiger Woods “carried his ass” at the Presidents Cup and JT will be looking to extract a bit of THAT revenge as well.

Safety Dance:

Bubba Watson – MC: I mean, he only won three of the last six and never finished worse than T16.

Rory McIlroy – T5: Playing from the final three and was the worst of the bunch with 73.

Dustin Johnson – T10: That’s nine top-10s from 11 starts at Riviera.

Spicy:

Jon Rahm – T17: Clawed it to four shots back entering Sunday but 72 saw him sputter out.

Patrick Cantlay – T17: 68 to open and 68 to close (co-round of the day) but the middle was 1-over.

Tony Finau – T51: Just enough inconsistencies to remain inconsistent.

Max Homa – T5: Damn near won it.

3AM at the Blackjack Table:

Jason Kokrak – MC, Ryan Moore – T30, Abraham Ancer- T43, Carlos Ortiz – T26

This Week – World Golf Championships – Mexico Championship

The column above goes into greater detail on what I believe it’s going to take to win this week and obviously that influences what I write below:

THE PICK

Dustin Johnson

I have 7 MC from 17 or so events so I don’t have time to “ration” for down the road. It’s a WGC, only big boys win and nobody is better on this track so I’m in. Hell, second place is almost a million, right??? RIGHT????

For those of you contending, you’ll have some difficult decisions to make but remember: EVERYONE gets paid this week and one third of this field has NO BUSINESS being here. The middle 60 percent will T40 to T20 and there are about 10 guys who can win.

I like those odds for big players. The only other tournament similar is the Masters but NOBODY sits that one out haha.

Safety Dance:

Rory McIlroy: Hard to push DJ in front of him but I did.

Justin Thomas: If you weren’t convinced in Horses, I can’t help.

Tommy Fleetwood: Form is outstanding and he’s played every event here.

Spicy:

Adam Scott: He’s done it before…

Louis Oosthuizen: Part of me thinks Match Play is the better fit but he’s hot.

Tyrrell Hatton: Not saving him for anything else.

Paul Casey: Current form sticks him in here.

3 AM at the Blackjack Table:

Rafa Cabrera Bello, Kurt Kitayama, Robert MacIntyre,

3 AM in Puerto Rico:

Viktor Hovland (my pick), Will Gordon, Scott Brown

Check out my previous results below if you need a history lesson:

History Channeled:

2018-19

My majors contributions and PLAYERS selection were worse than bad so to still break the $10 million mark with those awful results was encouraging.

Another valuable lesson learned is that the Playoffs are for the big boys. Now, WHICH big boys make this more and more difficult and that’s why it’s enjoyable and maddening all at the same time. Only McIlroy and Woods have won the FedExCup twice so start there.
