146th Open Championship PGA Tour Game

The third major of the season is on the line at the links of Royal Birkdale.

Big shift in strategy this week as the PGA Tour game will use SCORING ONLY for The Open Championship.

PGA Tour Fantasy Golf Game

Each week, I’ll trot out guys who I believe who fit the course, the game and the road map, plus add some substitutes. Four starters are supported by two bench players each week. Remember, once a player tees off in your lineup he burns a start, so make sure you need to sub out instead of want to sub out.

You’ll learn a few things about me each week in this column.

Games, like this one, that involve daily substitution options, I am terrible at playing.

I’ll give you my best four starters and two bench options but it’s up to you to outguess me on which rounds they should sit or play.

Last Time — John Deere Classic

  • Tournament Points: 1,424
  • Tournament Rank: 6,307
  • Season Points: 32,495
  • Season Rank: 154

Another week, another struggle as I didn’t have anybody on the podium. I also left two of my best three rounds of the week on the bench Thursday with Charley Hoffman and Jamie Lovemark on Friday. Lovemark paid me back for my mistake with a total of 50 points on Sunday. I’d point out I had to count Danny Lee’s 53 on Thursday but at least he was hurt!

I remember when I was in the top 40 just a few weeks ago so it’s time to turn this baby around!

Oh, lookie! DeChambeau was on the second six last week!

This Week

You must make pars and accept bogeys.

You must have inner fortitude and be able to grind.

You must have the chops to handle the links, weather and the pressure of a major championship.

This should eliminate about 130 players from the 156 in the field.

Also, this week will use SCORING ONLY as measurement so you better adjust your lineup accordingly.

Alternate Alternatives

Hell, I’d have no problem with these six guys either!

Dustin Johnson

Francesco Molinari

Phil Mickelson

Henrik Stenson

Tommy Fleetwood

Brooks Koepka
