The Hill Country outside San Antonio makes for a lovely backdrop this week as 156 players take to the The AT&T Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio.
Annually the Oaks Course rates inside as one of the most difficult on Tour and the winning score has never been lower than 14-under-par (twice).
PGA Tour Fantasy Golf Game
Each week, I’ll trot out guys who I believe who fit the course, the game and the road map, plus add some substitutes. Four starters are supported by two bench players each week. Remember, once a player tees off in your lineup he burns a start, so make sure you need to sub out instead of want to sub out.
You’ll learn a few things about me each week in this column.
Games, like this one, that involve daily substitution options, I am terrible at playing.
I’ll give you my best four starters and two bench options but it’s up to you to outguess me on which rounds they should sit or play.
Last Week — RBC Heritage
- Tournament Points: 1,156
- Tournament Rank: 2,727
- Season Points: 19,387
- Season Rank: 39th
I’m not very good at guessing which rounds to play guys and I suffered again this week as I left Kuchar on the bench Sunday when he went low. Luckily, I had McGirt in the lineup and he scored even more!
I had all six guys make it and all six finished inside the top 25.
Sometimes, I’d rather have a couple of fellas MC so I don’t have to out-guess the rest of you!
After the Masters and RBC Heritage I’ve worked my way back inside the top 40 so I’m hardly complaining.
The only tough part about last week was having Kisner and McGirt not getting over the finish line on Sunday and losing those points to Bryan.
If the players above don’t float your boat, plug and play somebody else!
