Puerto Rico Open DFS

03-22-17

Another tournament in paradise might not have the weather to match this week.

Don’t look up the extended forecast!

They’d love another few days/nights like this!

DraftKings has plenty of ways to join the action weekly in a salary-cap-format game. Gamers pick six players on a budget of $50,000 and hope they make the cut and go low. Each week I’ll list the players who I think have the most value and give examples of potential lineups.

Last Week:

It’s hard to be disappointed with 12th, T-13, T-7, T-7, T-66 and MC but it’s hardly time to organize a parade either. Leishman was mentioned in the subs and gut shots Tommy Fleetwood (T-10) and Ben Martin (T-41) didn’t disappoint.

This Week:

It looks as Puerto Rico will be wet and rainy all weekend so that’s going to factor my lineup.

I’m also going to lean on guys who have been finding a bit of form and hope they can continue moving in the right direction.

With the weather in play, we’ll have to get lucky and hope they can get enough holes in where guys don’t start thinking about WD.

My lineup this week:

Graham DeLaet ($10,600): I’m hoping he embraces the conditions and leans on his strong ball-striking to find his first win.

Luke List ($9,900): Not many knock it farther off the tee and he’ll enjoy attacking light rough and big greens.

Danny Lee ($8,700): I’m leaning on his newly-found form to continue and his putter to stay warm.

Harold Varner, III ($7,300): He’s showed signs of life last week at Bay Hill and is another bomber who can take advantage of his length.

Nick Taylor ($7,200): He’s been making cuts and hit the top 10 here last year in less than ideal conditions.

Jon Byrd ($6,200): Heavy on the front means I’ll have to find a cut-maker down here.  He’s a savvy vet who has had some successes here.

Plan B

For those of you who need options or alternates

My gut says lean on some youth as they might have a bit more to play for over established veterans regardless of weather.

Gut Shot(s)

One ping. One ping only.

Martin Flores ($6,800): A pair of top 20’s the last two times he’s played here.

Ryan Brehm ($5,900): He’s making cuts but not cashing big checks. He can give it a smack as well and might hole a few putts.

Good Luck!
