Fantasy Golf: FIO PGA Tour Game

Two courses, one metric for scoring at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines South & North.

Interesting decisions this week as this segment runs all the way until the Shell Houston Open.

PGA Tour Fantasy Golf Game

Each week, I’ll trot out guys who I believe who fit the course, the game and the road map, plus add some substitutes. Four starters are supported by two bench players each week. Remember, once a player tees off in your lineup he burns a start, so make sure you need to sub out instead of want to sub out.

You’ll learn a few things about me each week in this column.

Games, like this one, that involve daily substitution options, I am terrible at playing.

I’ll give you my best four starters and two bench options but it’s up to you to outguess me on which rounds they should sit or play.

Last Week — CB Challenge

With a leaderboard filled with players unlikely picked, it was a week to move up the board if your balance was right. My squad of Reed (T-12), Haas (T-17), Howell (T-12) and Steele (T-6) helped me move back into the top 200 for the season as the results last week were based on scoring only. Shame I didn’t have the guts to move Hadwin into the starting lineup but he was named as a sub.

CB Challenge

  • Tournament Points: 465
  • Tournament Rank: 622
  • Season Points: 8,384
  • Season Rank: 146

This Week

We’re back to SCORING ONLY again because multiple courses are in play this week at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines. As noted in my Yahoo! column the North Course will play markedly easier than the South Course so lineup balance will be crucial as scoring is the ONLY metric. *Note: The picture below reveals my lineup, not the starters, which will be determined Thursday morning.
