With Si Woo Kim not in the field, we’ll have another year since the move in 2008 where there won’t be a defending champion.
There’s plenty to play for this week so I’m not sure how much players Nos. 130 through 120 will relax but there will be birdies!

Well, that was fun!
Justin Thomas separated himself from the field late on Sunday afternoon to claim his first major at Quail Hollow Club outside Charlotte.
The 24-year old from Goshen, Kentucky picked up his fourth win on the season and elevated himself into some rarefied air.

Throw in some thunderstorms and the world’s best 100 or so golfers and we’ll have a party on our hands.

Quail Hollow hosts a major for the first time as the world’s best head to Charlotte’s monster.
Only Tiger Woods has defended in this format so it’s a big ask for defending champion Jimmy Walker.

Hideki Matsuyama has won half of the World Golf Championships this season.
He picked up his second WGC championship yesterday at Firestone South as he blew away the field with 61 on Sunday.
Gary Player was impressed too!

The list of winners here suggests a major champ or soon-to-be major champ will be taking home the hardware.
At 7,400 yards and par 70 with some of the toughest fairways and greens to hit on Tour, I’d also find some flushers.
